Zeta potential & the measurement of Surface Charge

Event Date: 07/09/2017

Event Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm

This seminar will include the theory behind surface charge measurement techniques, instrumentation, example measurements and applications. An extended Q&A session will allow you to find out how these techniques apply to your research.

This seminar will also be accessible remotely as a webinar via Zoom. Webinar access is limited to 30 remote connections, so if you have a group please watch it together. RSVP to get the link.

The main focus of zeta potential analysis of macroscopic solid surfaces is to gain information on the surface charge, providing information on surface functionality, the specific interaction of dissolved compounds with the solid surface, and liquid-on-solid surface adsorption processes.

The zeta potential is therefore important for understanding the behavior of solid materials in many technical processes where aqueous systems play a role, e.g. membranes for water treatment, biomaterials in contact with blood or wet processing of semiconductor wafers. Knowledge of the zeta potential of a material helps you optimise specific surface modification processes for a material to perform at its best.

Free copies of the Zeta Guide are up for grabs, but quantities are limited. So get in fast!
