GCMM is a major biennial international conference for widespread dissemination of knowledge in manufacturing, management, engineering, and technology. The conference was previously held in China (2016), India (2014), New Zealand (2012) and Thailand (2010), and was attended by delegates from over 25 countries. GCMM 2018 continues to serve as a global forum for knowledge exchange between researchers and industry leaders in areas such as materials, manufacturing and management.

Themes focus on sustainable digital manufacturing, innovative use of environment-friendly materials, faster production methods and predictive maintenance of manufacturing systems. Emerging digital technologies and knowledge economies that transform traditional manufacturing into efficient, effective and sustainable systems will be in the spotlight.
